My name is Darletta Michael. I am one of the yoga instructors at Core Fusion Pilates and Yoga. My yoga journey began over 12 years ago, when I realized I was feeling sluggish, in pain, and couldn’t comfortably get off the ground without assistance. I was in my early 40’s and knew it was a time for a change and to focus on me as well, as my husband and 3 children.
I became certified in 2008 through SCW Fitness. I continue to enrich my knowledge and practice by seeking trainings from many masters, including Baron Baptiste in Power Vinyasa Yoga, Leslie Kaminoff in Yoga Anatomy, Raja yoga with Dr. Mehrad Nazari and Michele Hebert, and even a Yoga Warriors certification for veterans and others suffering from PTSD or combat stress disorder.
My style of teaching is very much a blend of several types of yoga, as I strive to meet the student where he/she is at. Yoga can be adapted in many ways with the use of props, so it is accessible to meet the student and start the journey to a less stressed, more aware, and healthy lifestyle. What I find to be unique in yoga, is the breathwork and how truly becoming aware of the breath and how it moves in the body c’man create physiological changes in the central nervous system.
